Urban tribes

Sweden has been influenced by the basics in both the USA and Great Britain, so we do not really have a special style of our one. The differences in Sweden aren’t that big. Though there are some differences in how we dress and how we talk.

In Kungsbacka (29 km from Gothenburg) the differences between the cultures are too small to notice. But in Gothenburg the cultural difference is bigger, so you can find more differences in how people dress. This differences is because of the different cultures and religions.

In Sweden we like to follow trends. There is one trend in Sweden right now, and that is sport clothes. It is very popular to wear sport clothes, and particularly clothes you would wear in the gym. You don’t need to go far to see at least five people are wearing sport clothes with in 50 meter radius.

In the nicer part of town where all the rich families live, you can see people wearing blazers, nice dresses and of course expensive labels. This style is most known as posh, think Victoria Beckham. This trend is all about showing off, how much money they have and how cute clothes they can buy. For them, appearance is more important than everything else.

How ever, any particular urban tribes does not exist, in Sweden fashion is what decides how to dress and how to look.

  1. Here in Barcelona there's a recent hipster trend and it is such a ridiculous trend. We usually follow our fellow Americans' style and trends, but sometimes we are influenced by other Europe's states.

By the way, I have started a group chat on Google+ (hangouts), for us to chat in.
